Redecoration
If you are allergic to dust mites, your carpet and furniture could make your allergy even worse. This is why you should give up the carpet and go for tiles, hardwood or linoleum and the cloth furniture should also be replaced by leather.
If you don’t have enough money to redecorate the entire house, the first place to start with is the bedroom. This is because you spend the majority of your time in this room.
Leaks
The leaks could contain mildew and mold and most probably you don’t check them frequently. About two times per year you should check the water hookup under the sink and of your refrigerator.
Usually people forget about these pipes because they don’t see them too often. Nonetheless if you see a leak while it is small, you can prevent future problems. This rule also applies to the plumbing in your bathroom.
The mattress
In case you are allergic to dust mites, it may be a good idea to have allergy-proof pillowcases, box spring and mattresses. Another good idea to think about is not letting your pets spend too much time in your bedroom. It is possible that you aren’t allergic to your pet but it could have dust and pollen in its fur. This is why it is best to brush your pet’s fur as often as possible and try to bathe them. The bathing should take place outside in the fresh air.
